| Spring Newsletter
Hello. Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to read my newsletter. This is my very first one for my brand new website, and I'm pondering what in the world should I say? I guess I'll start with my writing. Writing Report I just got a contract for Surrendered Heart the third story about The Fairchild sisters. The first story featured Gabrielle, the second, Magdalene, and this is Isabel's story. Isabel is the youngest, somewhat spoiled, and definitely on the wrong path. In the course of the story, Isabel not only surrenders her strong will-but her heart as well-to Jesus. The story is set on a ranch near San Diego in 1883 and 1884 and should be out next Spring. My nonfiction book Spiritually Single has opened the door for an invitation to share with callers on the nationally syndicated radio show Parent Talk OnCall featuring Dr. Randy Carlson. I'm scheduled as the guest on Monday April 28th. You can call 1.800.776.1060 if you want to order the tape or find out what station in your area carries the show. The broadcast is also available on their website www.parenttalk.org or www.flc.org. I'm both thrilled and terrified, so if the Lord bring me to mind, I'd covet your prayers. Focus On My Family Things have been tough at my house the past few months. My husband had a back injury five days before Christmas and the last three months have been a medical nightmare, filled with tests, appointments, and even a surgery. The good news is he's back to work, but still has a ways to go in the healing process. Needless to say, this has consumed much of our time and energy in 2003. All the news-however--isn't glum. Matt, our oldest, moved back to town after almost ten years away. It's great to have him back. Kelsy is finishing up her master's and will receive her degree in May. Adam is in his first year of law school and made the Dean's list. So we have some events to celebrate as well. I consider my family my greatest blessing. I've stood before groups of women and challenged them with God's Word, I've ridden in limos with renowned Christian authors, and I had book buyers from all over the world stand in line for a signed copy of Spiritually Single, but none of it compares with time spent with my husband and kids. They are my greatest source of joy and my absolute delight. I thank God for these most important people who grace my life. Bible Study Bits Right now I'm doing Beth Moore's Jesus The One and Only. If you haven't yet participated in one of her studies, I highly recommend all of them. She's a gifted and anointed teacher. I'm also leading my college girls through Charles Colson's workbook, How Now Shall We Live. Another great learning tool. If you're not in an in-depth Bible Study, I encourage you to join one. In His Word is where we are challenged and changed. In His Word is where God molds us into the image of His Son. In His Word is where I discovered a Father who tenderly draws me with His everlasting love. Until Summer, I'm praying God's very best for you. His, |
